Limited Production of Much-Anticipated Refills
Responding to numerous requests from customers, GRAPHILO system planner refills are now available in a limited, direct-sale only release.
Kobeha Keikaku's original paper, GRAPHILO, was named by combining the Greek words for "write" (graph) and "love" (philo). It is a paper manufactured with the desire to create paper products that prioritize a pleasant fountain pen writing experience.
Development was carried out with the cooperation of paper manufacturers and fountain pen enthusiasts, all seeking the ideal paper.
From dozens of initial choices, various compositions and manufacturing methods were subtly altered while maintaining the same general characteristics. Writing tests were repeatedly performed on the resulting dozens of paper types, with fine adjustments continuing right up to the day of papermaking.
Paper can be broadly categorized into "uncoated paper," which has no surface treatment, and "coated paper," which is coated with pigments called fillers. Many of the characteristic writing qualities of GRAPHILO were born from innovations in the type, quantity, and blending method of these fillers.
Smooth, rich ink flow |
While retaining the texture of paper, it offers a smooth writing experience free from skips or snags.
This sensation is described by the Japanese word "nurunura," meaning sleek or gliding.
Sharp lines |
By using fillers that firmly cover the surface even when applied thinly, we successfully minimized ink bleeding and line thickening.
Excellent ink color reproduction |
A uniform coating layer allows ink colors to develop beautifully, with rich expression of shades.
Reduced bleed-through |
By adjusting the filler composition, ink is less likely to bleed through, even when using broad nibs or writing over previous lines.
Reduced front/back difference |
All paper inevitably has a difference between its front and back sides.
While some papers show a significant difference in writing feel depending on this variation, GRAPHILO has been carefully designed to minimize this front/back difference.
※ GRAPHILO has a slightly slower ink absorption rate to achieve its "nurunura" writing feel.
Additionally, you may not experience the above characteristics as strongly depending on the pen and ink you use.
Please try it while experimenting with the compatibility of your writing tools.
